We survived the holidays! Actually, it was much better than I had hoped for. One little man behaved pretty good and didn't ruin things for everyone. As you can imagine, there are always a few bumps along the way with 7 kids at home, but it was pretty nice. Kevin had work off all but one day between Christmas and New Years, so that was wonderful.
We had a nice, simple Christmas. I am happy with our Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh Chrtistmas. Gold is a gift of something you really want. Santa usually brings that one. Frankincense is something you need and Myrrh is something to enrich your soul. For some of our children, that was kind of hard...something that would enrich their souls that they would want and use. I think some of them wished they got something else, but it was very simple and not overwhelming. Lots of family time.
As the new year begins, I reflect on my many blessings. I have been truly blessed. I am so grateful that Heavenly Father has watched over me and my family. I also am reminded of the many things I STILL (yes, still) need to work on. My list of resolutions is simple---it hasn't changed much over the last 30 years. I either have too many distractions or just not committed enough or something. I need to read my scriptures daily, pray twice daily, FHE, temple attendance up, Family scriptures and prayers. See, nothing new. I just don't have it down yet.
Our cat, Topaz, is going to have kittens this week. That should be fun. I hope a nice twist from puppies. We are going to tile the laundry room, but didn't get to it while Kevin was home, so we just pulled the carpet and painted the floor. It will be fun to see the cute little kitties!
