This weekend we had our Packer Family reunion...family from my mom's parents on down. It was great to see cousins and their families that I haven't seen in many, many years, many of which it took a minute to figure out who they were. It was so great to have all 11 (okay 12--Ammon was probably there, too) of my children there and all my grandchildren! I think I was the only grandchild there that had married children that had all of them there. Unfortunately, all my cousins couldn't make it! It would have been great to have the other 20-some-odd others there to finish it up! And of course, Kevin. He was at drill in Washington. It was fun to see the cousins and kids mingle and get to know each other, to see the little ones playing together. I'm sure my grandparents were pleased with the results of the reunion. I hope we do it again, although my mom says she won't be planning it next time. I am so glad she did this time! It was great!
I was able to talk to my brothers that have older kids about having our 12 and up kids do family names for baptism for the dead soon so we can get this batch of names done! Then to schedule a sealing session for all of us siblings to get together and do them!
I learned a lot about my grandparents and great grandparents from my Uncle Steve. I didn't get a CD, so I am going to have to copy my mom's. He did a great job. One thing that's been on my bucket list is to go to Germany and England and see family sites. I think I will need someone with me that speaks German when I go to Germany so I can get the most out of the trip. Wish my Uncle could go with me!
